Meet Aaron, MSI's Program Director and top trouble-causer.

MSI: What do you love about living and working in the San Juan Mountains?

AK: I love the mountains, the terrain, the remoteness, and the ability to play.

MSI: What kind of projects do you work on for MSI? What is your favorite project that you work on and why?

AK: I work on forest health issues, primarily focused on connecting forests to water. I love working with the San Juan Headwaters Forest Health Partnership to transform community dialogue into work on the ground.

MSI: What is your most memorable, rewarding, challenging, or awkward experience from your time at MSI?

AK: I love demonstrating the role of science in decision making and bringing science to the community at their time of need. Monitoring the Gold King Mine release and demonstrating changes in water quality is our clearest example of that type of work.

MSI: What do you think is the most exciting change MSI has undergone in the last 15 years? (or in the time you've been with MSI?)

AK: I don't know if it is a change, but I really enjoy watching the vision of community-driven science come to fruition.
